This document details the discussions held by the Frontline Forum members at the last meeting. They are not complete minutes, more notes or points loosely captured in no particular order; apologies for points missed. Many thanks go to those who participated, and well as to those who continue to contribute through the online forum.

Government White Paper on Health
Paul Mason, investigative reporter with the BBC Newsnight team, gave a presentation about the government white paper on health.
Details of this presentation can be found at:-

Forum members raised concerns that HIV did not fit into the category which was being used in the government’s model for health care, with regard to categorising HIV as simply a chronic condition, and with no regard to the stigma involved with diagnosis.

Questions about these concerns and how specialized commissioning will work will be asked at the Forum Link meeting on the 25th of October.

Peer Support Training
The joint programme from Chelsea and Westminster HIV Clinics and Terrence Higgins Trust to provide training in peer support for people living with HIV requires more applicants. So far only six people have applied, and at least another four are required for the course to commence.

The application information is to be circulated again.

Ageing Project
More clarification is required. The paperwork has been re-read and a process of devising a strategy is under consideration.

Commission for Quality and Innovation
A questionnaire has been handed out to patients, as of 4th October, asking them if they are happy to give their consent for the clinics to be in touch with their GP.
